The Nursery has been developed in response to the needs of the local area to enable parents/carers to access employment or training.
The Nursery will offer 30 of its 62 places exclusively to parents in the King's Chase Ward identified as lone parents or on low income. The remaining places will be offered to local residents from the surrounding areas and those working locally. A committee made up of people who live and work in the area support the manager and staff team at the Nursery.
As a nursery, we aim to ensure that all the children in our' care develop to their full potential. in a caring and stimulating environment providing equality of opportunity for all. We will actively welcome parent/carer views and contributions regarding their child’s individual needs.
The team comprises of qualified and experienced early years practitioners. They are responsible for organising the day to day care of your child. On starting at the Nursery your child will be allocated a Key Worker who will be responsible for helping you (both) settle into nursery life.
We follow the guidelines set down by OFSTED as follows:
0-2 years =1:3
2-3 years = 1 :4
3-5 years = 1: 8
For children from 3 months to 2 years.
We have two rooms which each caters for up to 9 babies. The rooms are spacious
and provide both the opportunities for stimulating play and activities including;
art, music and imaginative as well as quiet times and appropriate caring activities.
Nappies, wipes and creams need to be provided by parents/carers.
For children aged_ 2 - 3 yrs.
The Toddler Room is a bright and inviting with a wide range of equipment
which is designed to enable the children to have independence in their choice
of play. The room has various areas. such as role-play, book comer. messy
area and discovery. There is also a topic area around which the weekly activities
are centered. Nappies, wipes and creams need to be provided.
For children aged 3 - 5 years
The Pre-school room is designed to encourage confidence and independence
by offering activities and equipment to prepare the children for school We
follow the Foundation Stage, a play based curriculum. and carry out informal
assessments termIy to ensure that we are meeting each child's individual
needs at this important time.
The Nursery encourages the regular use of our outdoor play space on a daily basis.We will use this area for free play, games and activities; there will be play equipment such as bikes, scooters and balls etc. A covered area will be available to provide shelter.
Hot nutritious meals are provided for the children and we are able to cater
for any special dietary requirements including food allergies or intolerances.
Healthy light snacks and drinks are provided by the nursery throughout
the day. Menus will be displayed in the nursery.
Babies will need to provide their own milk feeds and foods until they are
able to eat the nursery food.
